Organized by MotherBear Expeditions - Fred Granath and his team we did a 10 days cruise into the Fjords of Svalbard. This was our 3rd trip up to Svalbard and the first in winter time. What a difference in the landscape and temperatures! Wonderful snow on the mountains and freezing deep temperatures the first 2 days in Longyearbyen of around -17 C. The journey started going south for three nights and then going all the way up to the northern shores of Svalbard. We have been very lucky with our sightings at all. We have encountered about 8 different polar bears and some walruses as well. The landscape was amazing in the soft light of beginning mid-summer covered with snow and ice.
